Whew, we made it through January, the new year already tarnished by thirty-one days of somber news—the Omicron phenom of explosive sickness and death and tolls on society, a tsunami that by now has most likely touched every single one of us in one way or another.
But! But! But! As of this writing, the variant is peaking. A collective sigh of relief can be heard upon the land.
The days’ light grows longer in minute increments, now quite noticeable in the Northern Hemisphere. Candlemas/Imbolc and Ground Hog’s Day are nigh—so light St. Brigid’s candles, place your bets on Phil.
One way or t’other, let music ring. Hope you have a wee hoot dipping in and out of my collaborative quirky mid-winter playlist.
My thanks to contributors Nick Mascari, who gave me the year’s first track; Dale Leyden, neighbor and galpal extraordinaire; Teran Hillger, the still-whacky dude of my youth; comrade in writing in arms Laury A. Egan; Craig Hordlow, my Flo-homie musical brainiac; and all the muses who visit my mind and the Darksome Gnome in my imagination’s garden party, volume cranked.
As always, playlist suggestions a treat! Drop them in a reply. Let’s bougie and swoon.
